One Bad Apple

Went to eat breakfast on base, but we were too late for the Warrior Sports Café (the bigger mess hall here) so we tried Burger King. It was insane there, like possibly a line all the way outside, which would mean like 30-40 people . The staff there has trouble managing a line 3-4 deep, so that was not a pleasant idea. For some reason, the smaller mess hall is open this weekend and next, so we went there.

And as long as we’re talking about mess halls, Guitarman overheard a conversation the other day…
A: So is the mess hall here any good?
B: Man, it’s the best I’ve had in 17 years.
A: Really?
B: Yeah, it’s like a Denny’s. They have everything.

Went to Würzburg to look at computers. (We’ve decided to get a new desktop, but—gulp—not a Mac this time. They’re just so expensive and I haven’t been able to upgrade my last one into reliability, which is bad. Bad Apple, bad. It’s only like 3-4 years old, and I paid around $2500 for it… so it damned well should last a few years!) Bought one (for $2K less than a comparable Mac, Guitarman pointed out). Also found out it’s supposed to snow this weekend… so probably no train trip tomorrow.

Wee Laddie wanted to watch “Cars” in German. (We usually give him the choice of German or English.) Guitarman accidentally hit English without realizing it. When it started, Wee Laddie said, “No, German!” Way to go, kiddo! I know he can’t speak it yet, but it’s awesome that he could tell and made Daddy change it! :)

Later, Guitarman put Wee Laddie down for his nap and I got to go to Möbelhof all by myself. It was really nice just to get out and not have to try to keep those flailing toddler arms inside the cart.
