Hot, Hot, Hot

Hot again. Ugh. Saw Brenda (the one who originally set up the signing & music class with me) at the mess hall, they PCS (move away) on Monday. I thought they’d be totally psyched about Hawaii again (it’s where their home is) but she said it was a year early, so they didn’t get to do everything here that they wanted to. That may be the first time I’ve ever seen her come across as not 100% positive/enthused about something.

Went to get gas, mail a letter and swing by the ATM, then home. Wee Laddie was still wide awake as we got near home so we ran into the Norma store to get an air mattress (one of their super-discount items this week). I don’t know if it was that stop or the heat or what… but no nap from Wee Laddie.

Guitarman got home early so he witnessed my mid-nap-frustration grumpiness in all its glory. Oh well, I suppose it’s good for him to see that staying home with a little one is not all playing and snuggles. I finally gave up and let Wee Laddie come out of the bedroom, even though he didn’t even really get in a significant “quiet time.”

Went to Burger King for dinner (‘cause they have a/c) then to the PX for a little bit. Guitarman tucked Wee Laddie in was back downstairs by 9pm. Aargh. Apparently, battling your mama all afternoon is tiring work.

Cousin Brad was on Ghost Whisperer on AFN tonight. Since it’s so far behind the regular schedule I have no idea when it aired in the US…it’s an episode called “Dead to Rights.” Guitarman saw just a bit of it, but said Brad played the dead guy so it was a good part. (One of the few shows where being the dead guy means a big part.)
