What We Did Today

The weekend brunch sign they had up at the mess hall yesterday was a big fat lie. They’re on regular breakfast hours this weekend… 6-8:30am. So we had to go to Burger King. We then went to the PX to look at men’s fleece jackets for me (to fit over the belly this winter), then off to the library for new movies. Next stop: commissary, but only for sandwiches. I figured we’d taken enough time doing the other stuff that it might be smart to feed Wee Laddie and see if he’d go to sleep in the car on the way home. We decided to have a picnic even though it’s not terribly warm out, so we headed to a picnic shelter by one of the housing areas. Got everything/everybody unloaded and then noticed the big, smelly pile of grass clippings right near the tables. Ugh. Why there, really? Anyway, it wasn’t worth a whole relocation, so we just plugged our noses…and plugged along.

Wee Laddie didn’t fall asleep in the car, but did surprisingly well going to sleep at home. Perhaps it helped some that Guitarman was lying down with us for a nap. And Wee Laddie had a good nap, too, so I’m in heaven right now.

It’s been cold for like a full week now. Good grief, does this mean we’re already into winter weather again? I really feel like I need a few more blue-sky days to build up my sunshine stores for all the impending grey.
